MEET THE SALISBURY PEOPLE CONNECTORS – Chia-Lin, Kiara and Sophia

How do you think the ACDC Project will help people in Salisbury?

The ACDC Project enhances community awareness of mental health services and promotes a more positive attitude. Through door knocking, it informs householders about available resources and breaks down the stigma around mental health. We hope that the outcome of the research will be beneficial by providing much needed extra mental health funding to our local community.

What are you most excited about being a People Connector or Team Manager?

What excites us most about being a People Connector is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Engaging with householders, connecting them with resources, and providing support is super fulfilling. Every interaction is a chance to empower individuals.

Why and how do you think the ACDC Project is different from other mental health and wellbeing projects?

Unlike many projects that rely on individuals to seek help, ACDC takes services directly to the community. People Connectors engage in door knocking, ensuring that even those who might not actively seek assistance are reached.

Is there anything else you like to say about the ACDC Project?

It’s a chance to break down barriers and reduce stigma. We’re looking forward to being that bridge to valuable services and making a meaningful impact in people’s lives.
