Exciting news: CMHA’s ACDC Project has won a prestigious Award!

We are delighted to announce that Community Mental Health Australia received a Mental Health Service Award of Australia and New Zealand in the category Mental Health promotion or Mental Illness Prevention with the Assisting Communities through Direct Connection (ACDC) Project at the TheMHS Conference 2023 in Adelaide!

This accolade serves as a testament to the dedication, creativity, and hard work of our team, as well as the vision and commitment of all our partners, and of course, the work of our fantastic People Connectors!

The ACDC Project is focused on proactive mental ill-health prevention but has also found overwhelming evidence of significant unmet need for psychosocial supports in every state and territory. Addressing this is arguably Australia’s top Mental Health priority.

As we celebrate this milestone, let’s also look ahead with excitement. Our journey doesn’t end here – we’ll continue to innovate and promote community-wide awareness of mental health and wellbeing, as well as available support, increase mental health literacy, and normalise conversations about mental health, helping to widen engagement with mental health and other services across diverse social groups, and to advocate for better design of and increase access to support for people who need it most.
